Heather L. Orpel is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who received her Masters in Social Work degree (2010) and Bachelors of Science degree in Psychology (1997) from the University of Pittsburgh.
Heather has extensive experience working in the mental health field. She began her career providing direct care to adults with Intellectual Disability and Autism through Mercy Behavioral Health. More recently, Heather worked on the Integrated Health and Aging floor at Western Psychiatric Institute and Clinic serving individuals with Dementia/cognitive impairment as well as providing psycho-education to individuals and families. She completed an internship with Cove Forge Behavioral Health where she provided support and assisted in group counseling to those struggling with drug and alcohol addiction.
Heather uses a person centered and strength based approach in treatment to empower individuals to identify and use their strengths and coping skills to enrich and improve their lives. Heather also draws upon faith and will pray and use the Bible as a resource with individuals when requested.
