Tom's training and experience qualify him to provide counseling and psychotherapy for individuals, couples, and groups.
Tom's approach to counseling involves creating a collaborative effort in a safe environment for you to set goals and process the issues that you want to discuss and resolve. Progress toward goals may include your gaining of insight into the thoughts and intents of your heart. Current thoughts, feelings, and core beliefs may be explored, and modified behaviors may be encouraged. Faster progress is made when you work on your issues between sessions in your daily life to increase self-awareness, build confidence, and to try different ways of responding to your situations. Discussing your spiritual life and the use of Christian expressions of faith can be powerful and meaningful. Spiritual interventions will only be used if you agree to and are comfortable with them. His belief is that you are hiring him to help with specific issues and are therefore a client expecting good results which are accomplished in a manner that is mutually acceptable.
